[2] In this video Indy Mogul teaches the viewers about making short films. I found this video really helpful and I will use his advice in making my own film. He says in tip number 5 that ;short films are a better medium for experimenting'. I think that is very true as the story isn't very detailed so you can spend more time making the video look good, rather than just focusing on the story.

THIS BOY:
I really like this short film. The narrative of it isn't really my thing but I like the way it has been shot and how the sound has been used. All the shots are very colourful giving it a happy feel and the angles they have used make it look like a professional film. The sound too is also very professional; there is no wind in the background it is just purely the voice of the female narrator, some music and some faint foley sounds. |

THE GUNFIGHTER:
I like this short film too. I think it's quite funny, which means the directer has focused on making sure the genre matches the content of the film. I also think the mise-en-scene is very good. For a western film it is very difficult to make the location look 'western', but this film has done it very well. The angles and sound are very professional. However, this isn't the type of film I would make, the content in it is a bit inappropriate in certain parts. |

Comedy-drama examples from 'The Bucket List':[3] This scene from 'The Bucket List' (which is listed as one of the most popular comedy-dramas) is a sad and serious part to the film. This follows the Dramedy rule of 'funny but serious'. Edward is saying a eulogy at his best friend Carter's funeral. They had completed a bucket list together; as two terminally ill cancer patients.

|
[4] This part of the film is when Carter is seriously ill in hospital, very close to death. Edward visits him and reads him something. Carter starts hysterically laughing, then Edward joins in. They say laughter is contagious so it makes the viewers laugh too. Despite it being a sad situation for the pair who are slowly dying, it's a happy scene to see how much they enjoy each other's company.

The Secret Life Of The American Teenager
[2] This video shows a small clip one of the most popular TV shows for teenagers, 'The Secret Life Of The American Teenager'. The genre of this is a teen-drama. This relates to the favourite genre of adult TV shows (which is comedy-drama). People like do watch films and shows made of drama. Teen-dramas make the audience (teenagers) feel as if they can relate to the characters in the show and the situations they are broadcasting. Most teen-dramas are set in a high school environment and focus around the ups and downs of teenage life, from friendships to relationships. From my research into ‘what teenagers like to watch on television’ I have concluded that the most popular genre for teenagers is: Teen Drama. |

Cold Feet
[4] Number 9 on the IMDb website for the top 10 TV shows is 'Cold Feet'. The youtube video here shows a trailer to their new series. As you can see from the trailer, it has a 'drama' look to it. The colour of the video and the angles it has been filmed at look as if it could be a serious television programme. However, from watching it you see that what they say is quite comedic. This is what a Comedy drama (Dramedy) is, a serious film/show with funny parts within it. |

The idea of Jess getting accidently killed at the end of the film came from Emmerdale. In 2014 Belle Dingle and her best friend Gemma were outside arguing about a boy. Belle says "you gave him everything he wanted and he's still not interested", Gemma gets upset and slaps her round the face. Belle pushes her straight back. Gemma falls straight to the floor and hits her head on a rock. She manages to stay awake and walk. But after Belle leaves, Gemma goes to walk away when she collapses to the ground and falls in a bush, bleeding uncontrollably from her head.

Something similar also happened in the 2015 live episode of Coronation Street. Sarah Platt is arguing with ex drug dealer boyfriend Callum Logan. Callum has caused hell for the Platt family. He goes round to see 'Kylie' who happens to be Sarah. Callum is furious and ends up attacking Sarah. He pins her to the floor and he collapses ontop of her. Kylie, Sarah's sister-in-law and the mother of Callum's son, hit him round the head with a wrench. Callum bleeds to death on their kitchen floor whilst they come up with a plan on how to dispose of his body.
