'Perfect' is a love song that was written and sung by Ed Sheeran. Since it's release in 2017, it has spent a total of five weeks at number one in the charts. Although it is a modern song, it is very different to other songs in the charts. The rhythm and style of 'Perfect' has a timeless touch to it, that appeals to all target audiences. The music video also has various elements within it that suits to various audiences.
It is a very slow song, played with simple guitar chords. This is a style of music that has been very prominent throughout all decades of music. Compared to the auto tuned, dance songs in the charts, this is a traditional style of music that people of all ages will know and probably like. |

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is a Comedy TV series that ran from 1990 to 1996. The series had a total of 148 episodes and featured notable actors such as Will Smith.
In this scene, Will Smith walks in on his mother and another man in bed together. Obviously this is something nobody would like to experience; especially if they do not know who the man is! The comedy comes from the awkward situation and Will's over the top comical reaction. He screams and says "Momma No!' whilst covering his eyes and bopping his body around in a comical way. This reaction is unlike to be realistic, but put on to make the scene funny. The comedy could be considered as slapstick, due to the humour coming from how he moves around. |
The dinner scene from Shrek 2 is a very famous and entertaining scene. Children would find it funny because of the slapstick humour showing food flying across the room.
Teenagers and young adults would like it because although it is obviously fake, they can relate to the characters within this scene; particularly Shrek. Shrek has gone to visit Fiona's parents for the first time. This is a stressful situation for anyone meeting their significant other's family for the first time, but Shrek being an uncultured ogre, and tFiona's parents being the King and Queen, the pressures are a lot bigger. Younger audiences such as teenagers and adults could relate to this scene and Shrek because they are at the age where they begin to go into relationships and will have to go through the very awkward situation of meeting their partner's family. For some it may just be a reminder of what has happened in the past and will bring humour back to them of being in that same situation. Older people may relate to the King and Queen in this scene, or they may relate to Shrek and/or Fiona. They may have children of their own who are bringing home new partners for them to meet. They may find this scene relateatable from that sense as it is funny to see how awkward and nervous the partner is to be meeting them. They may also relate because they could dislike their child's partner. Or maybe it reminds them of their youth, when they were in the same situation as Shrek. |
This is another scene from Shrek 2. This is the scene where Shrek, Fiona and Donkey are travelling in a Garlic shaped horse and carriage on the way to meet the King and Queen of Far Far Away.
Children and teenagers will relate to this scene and find it funny because they will be just like Donkey. Most children can remember going on long car journeys, being stuck in the back of the car feeling really bored; pestering their parents every two minutes asking "how long now?!", "are we there yet?!". Adults and older people who may be parents or Grandparents will also relate to this scene and to Shrek and Fiona. They will know exactly how the characters are feeling having taken their own children on frustrating long car journeys. |

Pixar and Dreamworks which are both very famous animation creators, make films that are aimed towards children, but have a target audience for the whole family. Meaning that they must make the film enjoyable for all ages.
In the clip above, you can see how the creators of Shrek have used innuendos and discreet verbal and visual references to suggest humour that is drug related or that of a sexual nature. This has been done to ensure that the film suits the entertainment needs of all ages within the 'family' target audience. The inappropriate humour has been done in a way so that children will not understand it, and some adults may have to look into it quite deeply to find the humour. None of it is seriously bad, but will give parent's and older viewers a little chuckle whilst watching it with their children. |
Personality traits
https://www.livestroSng.com/article/562015-do-children-inherit-their-parents-personalities/ Teenagers are often stereotyped for being moody, antisocial, angry and rude. Although this is usually the case for a lot of teenagers, they cannot help it. Teenagers have a lot to deal with. They are growing fast and they are gradually turning into adults. This requires a lot of physical and mental changes. On top of this, they have to deal with the pressures of school and exams, friendship problems and family life. When this is all mounted up on top of each other, things can become extremely stressful; and result in the teenager becoming that stereotypical grump. |

Personality traits
http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/thirtysomethings_n_6219808 Pop culture often portrays your thirties as the best years of your life. You are free from the financial and personal insecurity of being in your twenties, but not at the midlife crisis stage of the 40s and 50s. However, it can be quite a stressful time for some people. By the time you hit your thirties, you have most likely started a career. A lot of people your age will have got married, some will have kids, although the thirties can be a decade of fun and freedom, it can be a decade of changes and feelings of disappointment if you haven't reached a certain stage. Most people by the age of thirty are quite mature. They no longer worry about personal insecurities they may have had when they were younger. Matureness makes everyone just get on with their lives and not worry about other people. Most people are happy with their lives and feel secure. Research has said that 70% of over 40s did not reach true happiness until the age of 33. Half of which said that life is more fun at 33, and 42% said that they were looking forward to the future. |
Typical Hobbies
http://www.mythirtyspot.com/9-hobbies-you-should-take-up-in-your-30s-love-for-30-project/ https://www.everydayknow.com/hobbies-for-women-in-their-30s/ As I mentioned previously, being in your thirties is considered to be the most enjoyable decade of your life. Therefore, 30 somethings will have a lot of hobbies. Some hobbies the average person in their thirties enjoys would be considered a 'young person' hobby, whereas others may be classed as 'older people' hobbies. The reason those in their thirties enjoy hobbies from both 'categories' is because they are reaching an age of matureness where they will enjoy things aimed towards other people, but will still have a youthful streak within them that makes them enjoy 'young' people things. Also, a lot of people in their thirties have become parents, so they may have up taken young people hobbies with their children. Here are some hobbies they may enjoy... - TRAVEL: I have already mentioned that by the time people are thirty, most have started a career and are somewhat financially stable. Having money could mean that they are able to explore the world. A lot of people do gap years when they leave school, but for those that couldn't afford it as a student may do it when they are older instead. - PHOTOGRAPHY: As people start having children in their late twenties and in their thirties, they will want to capture many moments on camera. A lot of people start enjoying photography and taking it up as a hobby. - EXERCISE: After things like pregnancy, women naturally put on weight, and obviously they will want to get rid of it. Many people's metabolism decreases with age, meaning that they put weight on a lot easier. Although thirty isn't old, many people want to stay youthful and slim as they get older, and live healthier lives to enjoy growing old happy. |
MEN
- Classic car restoration: restoration of classic cars is especially popular with men over 50 as it can allow them to have something to do and be proud of. It can also allow them to fulfil their dreams they may have had when they were younger. Perhaps they always wanted a certain car, but could never afford it. But after a long career they are able to buy it and restore it to perfect condition. - Fishing: fishing is especially popular with older men as it is something they can do to relax, unwind and socialise, whilst still finding enjoyment and excitement when catching fish. - Gardening: gardening can be another popular pastime due to being so relaxing. Whilst working their whole lives, people may not have time to care for their homes as much as they wanted to, but now with more time on their hands, they are able to take pride in their homes and the surrounding areas. - Walking: walking is very popular as it allows people to go and visit new places that they may have not had time to previously, whilst keeping fit and healthy. - Collecting objects/memorabilia - Dancing: dancing is another pastime that can remind older people of their youth, whilst keeping them fit and healthy. - Swimming: swimming is another way to keep fit and healthy, and by joining a swimming club or class, you are able to socialise with other people. - Photography: when you get older, you learn to appreciate life more and you are often scared of illness or death. This will encourage people to take up hobbies such as photography as it will be a way of capturing memories. |

'The Fault in Our Stars' is a romance drama that was released in 2014. The film is based on the book of the same name written by Auther and YouTuber, John Green.
I was 14 years old at the time this film was released, and prior to to it's release and even after, I have never seen such an enthusiastic build up and response to a film, in my whole life. A couple of years before the film, I had heard of the book. It was very popular amongst people my age, particularly girls. Everyone had a copy of the book, everyone would talk about it, post pictures of the books on social media; people were in love with this story. I'm not one to follow trends so it all went above my head at the time. When it was announced that the book was going to be made into a film, everyone was so excited, particularly as Ansel Elgort had been cast as Augustus Waters! Girls at school would be counting down the days til the films release, and some even booked tickets to a special fan screening of the film before it was released to the general public. |

All in all I think that The Fault in Our Stars is a great film. It has a very moving and powerful story line, great actors, great use of characters and it has been made very well. The scene below is one of my favourites in the whole film. Hazel Grace is lay in bed upset from finding out about Gus' death. Her parents walk in to comfort her. I like how there are no words in this scene (other than the narration), yet we can still see and feel the pain that Hazel is in. She is crying hysterically, and although we may not relate to this, we know how she is feeling through the outstanding performance she is giving. We feel sympathetic towards her because of this. We also feel sympathetic towards the parents in this scene, as they can see their daughter falling apart right in front of them. We can tell through their body language and facial expressions that there is nothing they can say or do to console their daughter. This feeling of helplessness has been portrayed perfectly and this has got to be the most powerful scene in the whole film in my opinion because there are no words needed to show the feelings of the characters. The music is also very soft and emotional, which adds to the effect.

The lack of expression in Lester's voice is genius. In most films, a monotone voice at the start of a film would be enough for you to turn it off, but in this opening scene, the boring voice over compliments the on screen footage perfectly; showing everything he describes unfold in real life.

I was quite shocked by the responses I received from this question. I assumed that the majority of people would not like to see sad scenes; but I was wrong.
A total of 30 people said that they like watching sad scenes, whereas only 11 people said they didn't. I found this very shocking. People told me that they like to see sad scenes because it is realistic, it makes you feel better about your own life and it allows you to feel an emotional connection between you and the characters. |
